The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 9:25 a.m. on July 12, 2026, when the driver was operating a Mazda CX-30 through the intersection of Sunray Drive. The SUV left the roadway and struck a ditch, then hit a concrete sidewalk before colliding with guide wires supporting a utility pole. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
